“West Virginia American Water is a people powered company with team members who work hard to provide high-quality drinking water to nearly 560,000 people every day,” said Robert Burton, president of West Virginia American Water. “Customers can remain confident that with every turn of the tap, West Virginia American Water continues to deliver clean drinking water for thousands of West Virginia families and businesses. These annual reports showcase that commitment.”
The Consumer Confidence Report is an annual performance measure of the quality of water supplied by West Virginia American Water against the compliance standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health. The report describes drinking water sources, water quality tests conducted, substances detected, and the levels of those substances. Commonly asked questions and the associated answers concerning drinking water are also included.
“Our team continues to serve as a leader on a state and national stage for our water quality and source water protection efforts,” said Billie Suder, Senior Manager of Water Quality and Environmental Compliance. “West Virginia American Water customers should be pleased with the high-quality drinking water that is delivered straight to their homes or businesses anytime of the day or night.”
Additionally, all seven of West Virginia American Water’s water treatment plants have been nationally recognized with Directors Awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Partnership for Safe Water program for surpassing federal and state drinking water standards. West Virginia American Water’s seven water treatment plants are the only plants in the state that hold the Director’s Award for the safe drinking water program.
