Since its inception 17 years ago, Iowa American Water again sponsored a golf hole for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Putt-A-Round fundraiser that was held at the River Center in downtown Davenport Feb. 1-4. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of operations personnel, Iowa American Water’s miniature golf hole was in tip-top shape for the event.
The Annual Putt-A-Round did not disappoint, even after taking the last year off due to COVID restrictions. The Putt as it’s known, began at a local outdoor mini golf course. Over the years, it has transformed into the largest indoor mini golf tournament in the Midwest! The four-day event raises money to support the local Big Brothers Big Sisters program that matches caring adults or “Bigs” to at-risk children or “Littles” in the Quad Cities area. Big Brothers Big Sisters helps children realize their potential and build their futures by nurturing children and strengthening communities.
As part of its Putt-A-Round support, Iowa American Water also sponsored four employee teams to represent the company. Company mascot Puddles even made an appearance to have some fun with the “Littles” who were the first the experience this year’s course. Our water company golfers certainly had a great time while raising money for a vital local organization that benefits the youth of our community.
