Tennessee American Water has published a series of videos on its YouTube channel on various water quality topics. The videos were created to help address some of the common questions customers may have about water quality.
“We know that at the end of every tap there is a family counting on us to provide safe, clean, and reliable water,” said Lori Stenzel, manager of water quality environmental compliance for Tennessee American Water. “We hope that these videos help customers better understand the quality of their water and why they can feel good about the product coming from their tap water.”
The videos are short – around 1 minute long with subtitles. Topics cover a range of frequently asked questions. For example, during the winter months, “Cloudy Water Explained” is relevant because cold water can cause air bubbles. A list of the videos and their links can be found below.
In addition to the videos, Tennessee American Water encourages customers to read their annual water quality report. The reports are available on the company’s website tennesseeamwater.com. To find the water quality report specific to the area where a customer lives, they can search by zip code.
A survey of over 2,000 Americans, conducted by American Water in 2021 and in partnership with OnePoll, found that only 65% of respondents had confidence in their ability to understand the water quality reports available to them. Tennessee American Water wants customers to become more familiar with the report and grow in confidence in their ability to understand.
