Joplin Schools – Missouri American Water Bottle Donation

Missouri American Water’s Joplin Operation donated more than 1400 water bottles to Joplin summer school students in June of 2020.  The donation helped students follow recommended procedures keeping them safe and healthy as the national pandemic continued.

“As part of the re-entry plan for our students, traditional water fountains were not used during summer school. In order to make sure our students stay hydrated, we reached out to Missouri American Water to inquire about obtaining water bottles for all of our students,” said Chris Bozarth, Cecil Floyd Elementary School Principal and summer school director. “Some of our families were facing difficult times and our goal was to ease the burden of requiring students to have a water bottle before entering class.”

When time came for school to resume in August of 2020, state and local health departments were still recommending water fountains not be used. Once again Missouri American Water stepped up to make sure all students had a water bottle, donating a total of 6000.
