Fifth Year of Support for City of Chattanooga’s Martin Luther King Day of Service

Since 2015, Tennessee American Water employees have participated in the City of Chattanooga’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service.  Throughout the years, the Company volunteers have contributed over 200 hours to a variety of activities.

Efforts that the employees have helped support include cleaning up storefronts along Martin Luther King, Jr, in the heart of the city; removal of tires and trail maintenance for the Lookout Mountain Conservancy; painting a library and weeding the garden of a performing-arts public school; and painting and clean up of the recreational area of Section 8 housing.

In 2021, the MLK Day of Service was a virtual celebration and tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr.  Watch this video of Tennessee American Water President Grant Evitts and several employees that reflects the words of MLK every person “is an heir to a legacy of dignity and worth.”
